Central Coast Family Bikes
Coast-to-Coast in Support of Leukemia Research

"It is not every day that a person is given the chance to mix pleasure, exercise, good deed, challenge, and adventure. A cross-country bicycle trip presents this and much more. What better way to spend two months close to the elements, see the country, have a close camaraderie with your loved ones, and raise funds for a worthwhile cause. We are dedicating our journey to the memory of our family members Suzan Gedayloo and Marilyn Bennett who lost their battles against Leukemia.

The trip will take us from the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco to the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City. The 3500 miles between promise to bring challenges, friendships, and lasting memories. Our goal is to raise $40,000 by the time we end our journey in New York City. As we begin this adventure we have already raised a little over $20,000. We hope that as a result of our effort and the generous contributions of friends, family, and strangers along the route we can make a difference in finding a cure for this dreadful disease and understanding its causes."

"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of
humankind as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than
outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure or it is nothing at all."
